We have exciting news and need your help!
First of all, thank you to all who have supported and given during 2020.
So far, what you may know of Balance Ministries is what you have seen through posts on Facebook and our website. We have attempted to share encouraging words with a touch of humor and inspirational graphics. Our ultimate goal has always been to grow the ministry by increasing our support to individuals and families affected by chronic illnesses. Balance Ministries was founded through a mutual burden to use our personal experiences, talents, and gifts to help others in similar battles.
Our goals for 2021 include continuing to help financially with medical travel for those in need. We also will focus our efforts on increasing a network of support and referral sources for this ministry program. As the current pandemic situation allows, we will offer free group, family, and individual counseling both in person and through telehealth focusing on chronic illnesses such as cancer and grief support. We hope to be able to give back to the community using our talents and time.
During 2020 Balance Ministries obtained tax exempt status as a 501(c)(3) organization. Any donations made will be tax deductible. The IRS recently announced that for 2020 income taxes anyone can claim up to 300.00 donations to qualifying charities even if not itemizing and taking a standard deduction. To learn more visit the IRS website. Balance Ministries will provide year-end summaries of gifts given to be used for tax purposes.
What does this mean for Balance Ministries and you? It means there is no better time than to give! Balance Ministries is excited to partner with you as we roll out some exciting new ministry programs in 2021.
More specifically, Balance Ministries is seeking donations for the following categories. .
- We need assistance to cover operational costs for a space to provide group counseling both in person and via telehealth. This space will also serve as a location from which to manage ministry programs such as the gift card ministry.
- We need donations as well in order to purchase gift cards for our gift card ministry to those who have medical transportation needs. Sometimes serious illnesses, such as cancer result, in families traveling outside their communities or even states to seek treatment. Expenses for gas, hotel, or food can be a strain on an already stressful situation. Balance Ministries was founded after previously serving in similar capacity through the William Carroll Memorial Fund.
