I began my Facebook post one year ago today with these words: “I’ve debated on posting this and truly can’t say whether I’m content posting or not posting.” Then I asked for prayer as we were saying our goodbyes to Bill. Husband. Father. Son. Brother. Uncle. Friend. Nephew. Cousin… my Tall Boyfriend. Yesterday, I found myself again debating on posting anything. I wanted to stay invisible this week. I wanted the anniversary of the most devastating thing to just pass by. God knew this was not what needed to happen and He began to stir my soul days ago. I knew when I woke up this morning that I had to write and share these few words.
Surviving depends on relying upon God and the people He puts in our lives. Surviving is about making a choice to survive and then taking one step at a time toward something. When we make time to read God’s word, build that personal relationship with Him, just sit quietly, and listen attentively, we move forward. Surviving is also about putting on a brave face, surrendering all doubt, guilt, shame, and negativity, and allowing God to show you how you can help someone else. If you are in a place and there seems to be no way out, take one step and then another. Read God’s Word. Google scripture focusing on areas you are struggling. Sit quietly and listen. Do it all over again and again. Ask for help. God places people in our lives to help lift us out of our own despair. It’s scriptural to depend on each other! God expects it! Whether you realize it or not you do have what it takes to not just survive but to also thrive. You do have that brave face! Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 Author: Kim Carroll

Balance Ministries was founded on faith that God would order steps and impart vision according to His plan.
Our Vision for 2021 is moving forward to assist those in need who are struggling with chronic illnesses such as cancer. We will be offering support groups, individual counseling in person and via telehealth for patients and their families. We will also be rolling out a gift card ministry and offering financial assistance to those needing to travel as a result of chronic illnesses. As always, please reach out to us if you have need of prayer or other needs. We may be able to help or point you in the right direction! |
